Title: Grammarly: A modern ally in language teaching. From NLP theory to classroom practice

Abstract: This presentation outlines the integration of Grammarly as a modern pedagogical tool in language education, connecting the theory of Natural Language Processing (NLP) to practical classroom applications. The theoretical framework explains how Grammarly uses NLP to provide real-time feedback not just on grammar and spelling, but also on clarity, style, and tone, personalising the learning experience. The practical framework provides concrete examples across various subjects. In language arts, it supports a multi-stage writing process, from basic proofreading to stylistic refinement. For foreign language learners, it offers immediate correction of common errors, enriches vocabulary, and improves sentence structure. Its interdisciplinary value is demonstrated in subjects like Literature, where it helps students clarify complex analytical arguments, and in History, where it aids in maintaining a formal and objective academic tone. The core argument is that Grammarly is not a replacement for the teacher but a powerful supplementary tool. By automating mechanical corrections, it fosters student autonomy and enables educators to focus on higher-order skills such as critical thinking and argumentation, thereby cultivating more confident and competent writers. By moving from its theoretical foundations in NLP to concrete classroom applications, this presentation will demonstrate how to effectively combine theory and practice when integrating this powerful tool.
